As we steam towards the end of another busy academic year, we start to recruit new tutors for September. So, do you have what it takes to be an #OCtutor?
What are we looking for?
First and foremost, we are looking for tutors with a passion for what they do. We’ve found the best tutors are people who are enthusiastic, eager to develop their skills and keep the working knowledge of their subject up to date.
Second, we are looking for tutors who can commit to an entire academic year. The majority of our students ask for weekly one-to-one support with extra during the school holidays. Students feel more comfortable and supported nearer the exams when they have a tutor with whom they have built a rapport.
What can you expect from us?
Osborne Cawkwell is one of the most established and well-regarded tutoring agencies in London. We pride ourselves on meeting all our tutors in person and one-to-one so we can get to know you as much as possible; this way, we can offer you the most suitable placements.
We are friendly and supportive and there is always someone here for you to talk to should you need any extra support or information. Furthermore, we will never push you to take on a placement that you feel you cannot commit to and will only ever offer placements to tutors on an individual basis, never in a round-robin email or advertised online.
We are keen to help you develop your tutoring skills and will be running a programme of workshops and talks throughout the Autumn and Spring terms. The programme will cover: mental health, dyslexia, dyscalculia, common entrance exams, study skills and more.
What do our tutors say about us?
“The best in the business. I wouldn’t work for anyone else. If you’re serious about tutoring, look no further. These people set the standard for other agencies to aspire to. There is so much care for and attention to tutors and clients alike. Head and shoulders above the rest.”
“Very friendly and professional agency. Excellent to work for as a tutor.”
How do I apply?
To apply to tutor through us you will need to send your CV and fill out our application form, which can be found here. We will endeavour to get back to you within 24 hours and should we wish to take your application further, we will invite you for an interview.
We also ask for two references and proof of a current DBS check. If you don’t have a DBS you can apply for one through us and payment will be taken when you start tutoring.
We look forward to hearing from you!
