Consultant and Mental Health Advisor
Daniel has a deep interest in psychology, philosophy and personal development, which led him to become interested in teaching and how to get the best out of a student. Combined with his background in construction where his focus was on building and maintaining relationships, his role at OC is a great mix of liaising with clients and tutors and the desire to help students improve. His sharp wit and informed cultural references keep us on our toes.
A lifelong meditator, Daniel studied Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) under the tutelage of renowned practitioner Rosalie Dores, and has recently qualified as a Mindfulness teacher through the Mindfulness in Schools Project.
Formative years spent…in Essex, managing his myriad of Tamagotchis and listening to the Spice Girls.
Mind honed at…Chelmsford College (BTEC National Diploma) and University of Kent (BA Drama and Theatre Studies).
First job…washing dishes at a pub when he was 13.
Since that he has worked… in a variety of different sectors, most recently construction, where he designed electrical control panels. He has also volunteered at a suicide prevention charity and is currently a facilitator at Ruby Wax’s Frazzled Cafe.
He’s also…toured nationally as part of a comedy sketch group and busked in Chelmsford High Street. Since then Dan recently fulfilled a life-long dream of travelling to Japan.
What else…Dan is a regular on London’s open mic comedy circuit. When he’s not telling jokes in the basements of pubs, he enjoys playing guitar, going for walks in the woods and practicing mindfulness.
