11+ Common Entrance Tuition
11+ Common Entrance is taken by students entering independent and selective grammar schools at Year 7. This is a very competitive exam and as a result the number of applicants greatly outnumbers the number of places available.
While some schools will follow the ISEB syllabus, others set their own exams. Students sit tests in maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Schools will often invite the applicants for an interview before making a final decision.
Many students have additional tuition to increase their chances of success. Therefore extra help in maths, English, reasoning and interview technique – or a combination of these – can make a huge difference to a student’s readiness to sit the test. Tuition is particularly effective when taken steadily over a number of months to avoid a last-minute panic.
OC Tuition has a number of specialist 11+ tutors who have helped many students in the same situation. Tutors gauge what needs to be covered to ensure students reach their maximum potential and perform as well as they can. Hence the first few lessons serve as an assessment from which the tutor tailors subsequent lessons to your child’s needs.
