Pre-U Drama & Theatre Studies
Pre-U Drama & Theatre Studies exams are set by the Cambridge International Board, CIE. More and more schools are choosing for their students to sit the Pre-U exams either instead of, or mixed with, A Levels.
The Pre-U Drama & Theatre Studies course is made up of four components covering both theoretical and practical aspects of the subject. There are two complementary written components – a timed examination paper and a performance investigation – and also two practical components covering performance and production skills. In addition the performance investigation allows the pursuit of personal enthusiasms in the investigation of an individually chosen topic in the field. Furthermore the practical work covers both acting and production skills, in repertoire and in the creation of original drama.
A Pre-U Drama & Theatre Studies tutor through Osborne Cawkwell will support students with all areas of the course including performing and directing. In addition the tutor will equip their student with the right tools to engage and excel. Finally a tutor will support and extend students’ independent learning, develop their critical and creative skills, and work through past exam papers with them.
