Pre-U French exams are set by the Cambridge International Board, CIE. More and more schools are choosing for their students to sit the Pre-U exams either instead of, or mixed with, A Levels.
The Pre-U French qualification offers a fresh and rewarding approach to teaching and learning modern foreign languages. Furthermore the course offers learners engaging tasks that develop their confidence and acquisition of the language, preparing them well for university. In addition the syllabuses moves away from an emphasis on classroom French towards an immersion in authentic French language and culture. This will include: news and media, radio, television and the Internet.
A French tutor through Osborne Cawkwell will consolidate a student’s learning across the syllabus: helping them to develop their written, spoken and listening skills. Tutors will also help students master exam technique by working through example papers, and expanding their knowledge in an area of cultural interest.
