The Pre-U German exams are set by the Cambridge International Board, CIE. More and more schools are choosing for their students to sit the Pre-U exams either instead of, or mixed with, A Levels.
The Pre-U German specification offers a fresh and rewarding approach to teaching and learning modern foreign languages. It offers learners engaging courses that develop their confidence and acquisition of German. Furthermore the course prepares students well for university. In addition the syllabus moves away from an emphasis on classroom language towards an immersion in authentic German language and culture. This includes elements from the news, media, radio, television and the Internet.
A Pre-U German tutor through Osborne Cawkwell will work on consolidating a student’s learning across the syllabus: helping them develop their written, spoken and listening skills. Tutors will also help students master exam technique by working through example papers. Finally tutors will expand their students knowledge in a particular area of cultural interest.
